Parents: Interactive Ideas...

Below are a few interactive ways to keep your sanity!

If you have any additional ideas, please email me at Mark@marysvillefumc.org and they might get added to the list!

  • Bible App Devos

Do a Bible App devotional with your kids. Go to YouVersion in your app store to download. There are thousands of different plans on so many topics.

Do this every morning before they start their school work!

https://www.bible.com/app - the app and plans are FREE!

  • Go to a park or a hike

There are 348 acres of maintained parkland and 235 acres of un-maintained natural areas throughout the city. Park amenities include the municipal pool, dog park, disc golf course, splash pad, shelter houses, 10.4 miles of paved walking trails, and 3.3 miles of unpaved walking trails.

  • Try a new recipe or let the kids cook!

This is an easy one. Search online for a new recipe on a site like www.allrecipes.com where people try them out and rate how good they are.

  • Eat at the Table

Be intentional about eating together around the table. Open with a prayer, eat together, laugh, talk, and maybe end it with a board game.

Pro Tip: encourage EVERYONE to put their devices in the middle of the table or on the kitchen counter before sitting down to eat.

  • games... cards, board, etc

Put your games in a common area in your house and do one together each evening or a few a week.

Encourage each child to get to choose what the family plays together.

  • dream vacation

Brainstorm your dream vacation destination as a family. Then plan out all of the stops you'd like to take during the vacation!

  • FAcetime with Senior citizens

Find a way to connect with a grandparent or other senior citizens who are unable to leave the house.

  • Make a family video

Record your own family videos on any topic. This can easily be done on any smartphone or tablet by hitting the camera button and scrolling to video.

Example: make a tutorial on how to do something.
